Dearest Janeites, we’re thrilled to present to you the poster and first looks of our new short film, Manydown: A Jane Austen Story!
On December 2 1802, Jane Austen accepted a proposal of marriage from an eligible family friend. 223 years later, our movie explores the conflict she experiences after this proposal, grappling between settling for a loveless marriage to secure her and her family’s finances versus dedicating her life to her true love - writing. A story that feels all too familiar for today, Manydown looks at the choices we face between pursuing what we love or pursuing financial stability, through the life of one of the greatest artists of all time - Jane Austen.
